As a manifestation of MoU/agreement between Vocational College (SV) UGM and PT. Wijaya Karya (WIKA) Tbk, there were 7 students of Mechanical Engineering Department sent to join an internship since January.
Based on the proposals sent by students to PT. Wijaya Karya (Persero), 4 students of Heavy Equipment Engineering and 3 students of Mechanical Engineering were qualified to join either a 6-month internship program or a 3-month internsip program.
“There are many possibilities that our students could be officially working at PT. Wijaya Karya Tbk in the future,” Ir. F. Eko Wismo Winarto, M.Sc., Ph.D, head of Heavy Equipment Engineering study program, explained with high optimism.
Eko Wismo added that there are many companies recruiting employees from Mechanical Engineering Department of SV UGM through internship program. He always expects that students could also pick topic of their Final Paper based on their internship experience.
There is no special requirement for students who are intending to have internship at PT. Wijaya Karya (WIKA) Tbk. Each student only needs to submit a proposal. Then, PT. Wijaya Karya Tbk would send announcement to the related study programs.
PT WIKA could be a prospectus partner of SV UGM to provide skilled Human Resources to compete in global market. (ty)
