Seminar Nasional Teknologi Terapan (SNTT) adalah kegiatan akademik tahunan level nasional yang diselenggarakan oleh Sekolah Vokasi Universitas Gadjah Mada.

The development of communication and information technology brings massive changing impact to society, from basic needs to the need of self-actualization. Currently we are entering industry 4.0 that connects all physical systems with virtual and cyber processes. Human beings keep innovating continuously to obtain a better life by creating invention that can produce something effective and efficient. These days, the world is experiencing disruptions marked by certain indicators: simpler (easier), cheaper (cost less), accessible (more affordable), and faster. In the business world, the fundamental changes occur in all lines of both aspects of production and distribution. Some conditions that characterize disruption era include 1) cost saving through simpler business process; 2) better product quality; 3) disruption has the potentials to create a new market, or turning the exclusive ones to be inclusive; 4) the product/service from disruption should be more accessible or reachable by the users. For example online taxi or online banking services including financial technology, all is now available in our hands, on our smartphone; 5) disruption makes all things smart. Everything is smarter, time-effective and more accurate. Considering this background, Vocational College Universitas Gadjah Mada in collaboration with Semarang Merchant Marine Polytechnic (PIP), Nagoya University Japan, University of Sunshine Cross Australia, and other stakeholders conduct the first International Conference on Technology for Sustainable Development (ICTSD) 2018 presenting a theme "The Role of Higher Education in Disruptive Era" International Conference on Technology for Sustainable Development (ICTSD) 2018 aims to provide a platform for stakeholders to share ideas, thoughts, and research findings to solve problems in transportation and logistics, forestry and the environment, socio-humanities (languages, arts and culture, economics, management, accounting), science and technology (industry, computing, materials, energy). In addition, this event is also held to show the findings of scientific studies to inspire the participants, lecturers, researchers and practitioners The theme taken is "The Role of Higher Education in Disruptive Era”. ICTSD 2018 accommodates various scientific disciplines of science that synergize one another. The scientific disciplines are divided into 4 clusters, namely: Transportation and Logistics with sub-theme ”Digital Logistic”. Forestry and Environment with sub-theme “The New Concept of Community Forestry”. Socio econmic-humanities (languages, arts and culture, economics, management, accounting) with sub-theme “Financial technology and its impact to the culture”. Science and Technology (industry, computing, materials, energy) with sub-theme “Opportunity and challenge in industry 4.0”. .
