Bantul, August 8, 2024—The Community Service Team of the Tour & Travel Business Study Program (PPM BPW Team) of the Vocational School of Gadjah Mada University has initiated a mentoring initiative to develop cultural events in the Kadisoro Tourism Village. This activity aims to strengthen the village’s branding strategy while increasing the capacity of community resources to manage cultural events.
The initial coordination occurred on August 8, 2024, at the Kadisoro Tourism Village Meeting Point. This meeting involved various parties, including the Kadisoro Tourism Village Management, the Gilangharjo Village Administrators, Mentors from the Yogyakarta Special Region Tourism Office, representatives of the Kadisoro Youth Organization, and the PPM BPW Team.
In the meeting, the PPM BPW Team explained the mentoring plan, which focuses on developing event concepts based on local culture, providing event management training, and strengthening promotions based on digital technology. This initiative aims to preserve Kadisoro’s cultural heritage and encourage community welfare by increasing tourist visits.
This mentoring is a strategic step toward creating a sustainable tourism ecosystem, where cultural preservation and improving the community’s economy go hand in hand. In the future, the PPM BPW Team is committed to overseeing the program implementation process until Kadisoro Tourism Village becomes a leading destination known for the uniqueness of its cultural events.
