STEI Hamfara Visits UGM’s Field Research Center in Kulon Progo: Promoting Research Collaboration and Field Education

Kulon Progo, April 14, 2025 — The School of Economics and Informatics (STEI) Hamfara Yogyakarta conducted an academic visit to the Field Research Center (FRC) of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) located in Kulon Progo, Special Region of Yogyakarta, on Monday (April 14). The visit aimed to provide an opportunity for non-UGM faculty and students to gain a deeper understanding of UGM, particularly the FRC. 

Kegiatan kunjungan meliputi sesi diskusi dan lab tour ke semua Center of Excellence (CoE) yang ada di FRC.

The STEI Hamfara delegation, consisting of faculty members and students totaling 50 participants, was received directly by the FRC management team from UGM. In her opening remarks, Dr. Ir. Nurulia Hidayah, S.Pt., M.P., IPM., ASEAN.Eng, as the FRC Coordinator, explained the profile and laboratory facilities available at the FRC, as well as the various interdisciplinary research programs conducted there.

Kunjungan ini bertujuan untuk memberikan kesempatan bagi civitas di luar UGM untuk mengenal lebih dalam tentang UGM, khususnya FRC.

“We greatly appreciate the visit from STEI Hamfara. This is an important step in building networks between universities, especially in applied research that directly impacts the community,” said the FRC UGM coordinator.

The visit included discussion sessions and a lab tour of all the Centers of Excellence (CoE) at FRC. STEI Hamfara students had the opportunity to see firsthand how the integration of academia, research, and community empowerment is applied in practice. 

This visit aligns with SV UGM’s efforts to support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, by providing access to information and interdisciplinary learning based on field experience. It is hoped that through this activity, participants will expand their knowledge and understanding of emerging issues in the fields of education and research.
