Four Sekolah Vokasi UGM Lecturers Receive Awards for Reputable International Scientific Publications

Yogyakarta (April 16) – Four lecturers from Sekolah Vokasi UGM have won awards for their scientific works published in reputable international journals during the period of February 2025. The awards were presented by the Director of the UGM Research Directorate as a form of institutional appreciation for the lecturers’ contributions to strengthening academic culture through globally impactful publications.

This achievement reflects Sekolah Vokasi’s commitment to encouraging academic staff to actively contribute to the development of knowledge and the resolution of strategic issues, both at the national and international levels. Scientific publications in reputable journals are not only an important indicator of the strengthening of the three pillars of higher education but also play a role in supporting the acceleration of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The scientific works produced by the faculty members cover a variety of academic themes relevant to contemporary challenges and aligned with several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Among these are the development of food product innovations based on a value engineering approach supporting SDG 12 Responsible Consumption and Production, studies on the absorption of harmful gases as a solution for emission control related to SDG 13 Climate Action, the use of visualization technology for monitoring the solidification of molten salt in clean energy systems supporting SDG 7 Affordable and Clean Energy, and an analysis of the effectiveness of English language learning strategies to support SDG 4 Quality Education. 

The four lecturers who received the award are Anjar Ruspita Sari, S.T.P., M.Sc., Muhammad Rifqi Al Fauzan, S.Si., M.Si., Dr.Eng. Yosephus Ardean Kurnianto Prayitno, S.T., M.Eng., and Alfelia Nugky Permatasari, S.S., M.A. All of these scientific works have been published in international scientific journals classified as Q1 to Q3, demonstrating research quality that not only meets high academic standards but also impacts the development of science and public policy.

This achievement is a source of pride for Sekolah Vokasi UGM and demonstrates that strengthening research capacity can align with the mission of vocational education. It is hoped that this success will inspire all academic staff to continue creating, innovating, and contributing to building a more empowered and sustainable society.
