Center of Excellence for Industrial Product Development (CoE IPD)

The Center of Excellence for Industrial Product Development (CoE IPD) focuses on transforming research outcomes into realizable products and services. Therefore, its core scientific competencies lie in processing raw materials into finished products, with mechanical engineering (mechanical design and manufacturing) and electronics (electronics, information technology, and IoT) serving as its main pillars.

With an open-collaboration spirit, other fields—such as health sciences, civil engineering, animal science, and various disciplines—contribute as secondary layers that help drive activities within the center.

The main activities of CoE IPD include product development projects funded through industrial collaborations, government grants, and university support.

High-precision digitalization converting physical products into detailed 3D models. Ideal for reverse engineering, design documentation, and digital-based manufacturing preparation.

Manual CMM Training

Basic Training for Manual CMM Machines

Training on operating manual Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) for precision measurement, covering fundamental principles, techniques, and applications in quality control and inspection.

SolidWorks Certification

SolidWorks Certification

Training and facilities to support participants in obtaining official SolidWorks certifications (CSWA/CSWP), covering 3D modeling, assembly design, technical drawing, and exam preparation.

1. Digital Manufacturing & Prototyping Facilities

  • FDM & SLA 3D Printers: Used for rapid polymer-based prototyping, supporting both structural-strength prototypes (FDM) and high-precision, detailed prototypes (SLA).
  • Laser Cutting Machine – Trotec Speedy 100: A high-precision laser cutting system capable of processing acrylic, wood, rubber, and other non-metal materials.

2. Digitalization & Reverse Engineering Facilities

3D Scanner – Shining 3D Einscan Pro 2X 2020: An industrial-grade 3D scanner designed to convert physical objects into high-accuracy 3D mesh files for reverse engineering, inspection, and design optimization.

3. Precision Measurement & Inspection Facilities

Manual Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM): A high-precision dimensional measurement system used for inspecting mechanical components and verifying product dimensional tolerances.

4. Material Testing & Characterization Facilities

  • Optical Emission Spectrometer (OES) – IN Belec: High-accuracy chemical composition analysis for metallic materials (Fe, Cu, Ti, Al).
  • SEM – JEOL JCM 7000: Surface and microstructure characterization (SEM imaging, EDS, Elemental Mapping).
  • Coating Unit – JEC3000FC: Platinum sputter-coating system for non-conductive SEM sample preparation.

5. Professional Software for Design & Analysis

  • SolidWorks & Solid Edge 2021: Industry-standard 3D CAD software for mechanical modeling, assembly, and simulation.
  • ANSYS CFD: Simulation software used to analyze fluid flow, pressure distribution, and heat transfer phenomena.
  • LabVIEW: Graphical programming platform for instrumentation, data acquisition, and automation.
