A workshop entitled “Smart Survey, LiDAR, and Digital Engineering” was successfully held on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, from 09:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (WIB) in Room 204, 2nd Floor, Teaching Industry Learning Center (TILC), Vocational College Universitas Gadjah Mada. The event was organized by the Center of Excellence Smart and Green Building Information in collaboration with PT Geo Investama Mandiri and FJD Dynamics, a leading geospatial technology company.

The workshop was attended by lecturers and students from the Department of Geomatic Engineering Technology, the Department of Civil Engineering, and the Department of Veterinary and Animal Technology of the UGM Vocational College. In addition, the event was open to the public and attracted participants from various faculties across UGM. Participants demonstrated strong enthusiasm throughout the event, particularly as the workshop showcased the latest surveying and digital mapping technologies, which are increasingly being adopted across various sectors, including construction, mapping, and digital documentation.

During the workshop, participants were introduced to several advanced technologies and devices developed by FJD Dynamics, including the FJD V4E LiDAR, FJD SLAM P2, FJD S2 Max, and FJD Trion Model. Through live demonstrations, participants were able to observe firsthand how objects and environments are scanned using LiDAR and SLAM technologies, which can generate spatial data quickly and accurately.
FJD Dynamics is recognized for developing digital engineering and smart survey solutions powered by automation and three-dimensional mapping technologies. The technologies presented during the workshop are considered highly relevant to the needs of modern industries, particularly in building documentation, three-dimensional modeling, Building Information Modeling (BIM), and digital twin development.
The workshop maintained a highly interactive atmosphere, with participants actively engaging in discussions and raising questions throughout the Q&A sessions. Several attendees expressed strong interest in the application of LiDAR technology for various purposes, including research, construction, regional mapping, and the preservation of buildings and cultural heritage sites. Participants also had the opportunity to observe how scanned data are processed into informative and easily analyzable three-dimensional models.
Following the workshop, representatives from FJD Dynamics and its industry partners visited the Center of Excellence Smart and Green Building Information. The visit provided an opportunity to showcase the facilities and innovations developed by the CoE, while also exploring potential collaborations between academia and industry in advancing smart survey and digital engineering technologies.
