Yogyakarta, February 25, 2025 – Sekolah Vokasi Universitas Gadjah Mada (SV UGM) once again demonstrated its commitment to preparing graduates for the workforce through the organization of the Graduation Preparation Program for Period II. This time, SV UGM collaborated with PT. Sreeya Sewu Indonesia Tbk to equip graduating students with relevant knowledge and skills for the workplace.

The graduation orientation, titled “Preparing to Enter the Digital Workplace with PT. Sreeya Sewu Indonesia Tbk,” was held in person at the Suhardi Sigit Building of the Department of Economics and Business at SV UGM. The event was attended by 154 graduating students from various departments of SV UGM. The agenda began with a signing ceremony for a cooperation agreement between PT. Sreeya Sewu Indonesia Tbk and Sekolah Vokasi UGM, consisting of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and a Cooperation Agreement (PKS). This cooperation involves the implementation of orientation programs and internships for final-year students or recent graduates, as well as providing information about job opportunities and recruitment programs.
In her remarks, Dr. Endang Soelistyowati, S.S., M.A., Deputy Dean for Cooperation and Alumni Affairs at Sekolah Vokasi UGM, stated that, “Sekolah Vokasi UGM designs its curriculum by sending students for professional internships in the industry. These professional internships mean that students can physically be in the industry to contribute, participate in processes, and create work. Students can work on industry targets while completing their final projects.”
Sekolah Vokasi UGM regularly organizes Graduation Preparation Activities for SV UGM graduates, which are activities designed to equip and motivate alumni, as well as provide additional soft skills as they enter the workforce or continue their studies. This activity also serves as a platform for industry partners and Keluarga Alumni Sekolah Vokasi UGM (KAVOGAMA) to collaborate, contribute, enhance quality, and provide information and bridge access to the workforce for new Sekolah Vokasi UGM graduates.
Mas Yanto Herlianto, Chairman of KAVOGAMA, emphasized that graduation is not the end point but the first step in alumni’s journey to prove their quality in the workplace. “This is not the end of your academic journey but the beginning—the beginning where you prove yourselves to the society or the workplace,” he added. Additionally, he reminded the graduates to uphold the reputation of their alma mater and continue contributing to Keluarga Alumni Sekolah Vokasi UGM (KAVOGAMA).

The event continued with a session on “Preparing to Enter the Workplace” and an alumni sharing session from PT. Sreeya Sewu Indonesia Tbk., presented by Mr. Antonius Saptorahardjo, HR Director of PT. Sreeya Sewu Indonesia. “As we transition from the academic world to the professional world, there are many challenges and opportunities awaiting us. Today, we will discuss how to adapt to the work environment, develop relevant skills for the future, and avoid common mistakes often made by new graduates. I will also share tips for successful job interviews and how to navigate the differences between classroom life and the real world. Our goal here is to ensure that you are all prepared and confident as you step into the workforce,” he said.
A Sharing Session was conducted near the end of the event with Bintang Athar Nursaid, an alumnus of the Electrical Engineering and Informatics Department (DTEDI) at SV UGM, who is currently participating in the Management Trainee Program at PT. Sreeya Sewu Indonesia Tbk as a new employee. Bintang shared tips and tricks for navigating the professional world with the graduating students of SV UGM. “Preparation is the key to success in entering the workforce, especially for those aiming to become Management Trainees (MT). Understand the company culture, enhance your skills, and don’t hesitate to keep learning and adapting quickly,” he said.
This graduation orientation is expected to provide significant benefits for SV UGM graduates. With adequate knowledge and skills, they are expected to be better prepared to face the working world, achieve success in the future, and bring pride to their alma mater.
