The event was initiated by the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Cultural Affairs (Kemenko PMK) through the Deputy Assistant for Disaster Risk Reduction, involving ministries, institutions, private sectors, and academia.

Under the theme “A Strategic Collaboration Hub for National and Global Disaster Risk Reduction,” EDRR 2025 served as a multi-sector platform to showcase cutting-edge disaster management technologies, innovations, and solutions. The exhibition featured over 200 international brands and 44 national participants, presenting the latest advances in disaster mitigation and emergency response.

During the event, Sekolah Vokasi UGM showcased three outstanding innovations developed by its lecturers and students:

  1. Gama Rain Filter by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Ir. Agus Maryono, IPM., ASEAN Eng. and team — a rainwater harvesting technology that purifies collected water into drinkable quality.

  2. Wound Scanner by Dr. Ir. Setyawan Bekti Wibowo, S.T., M.Eng., IPM. and team — an emergency response device capable of quickly and accurately measuring wound size and depth.

  3. Natural-Resilient Smart Agriculture by FASTAN, coordinated by Dr. Eng. Yosephus Ardean Kurnianto Prayitno, S.T., M.Eng. — a smart farming system designed to withstand environmental challenges while supporting national food security.

In addition to presenting these innovations, SV UGM also engaged visitors in discussions on best practices in disaster mitigation and offered practical public education materials to raise community awareness.

Beyond technology, the exhibition also focused on economic empowerment. Around 20 MSMEs and disaster survivors showcased their works, with SV UGM providing support through entrepreneurship mentoring, technology training, and community capacity building.

Sekolah Vokasi UGM’s participation in EDRR Indonesia 2025 reaffirms the role of vocational higher education in developing applied solutions to national disaster challenges. Its presence reflects a strong commitment to fostering relevant innovations that meet community needs while promoting sustainability and resilience through research and technology.
