Yogyakarta, August 14, 2025 – Sekolah Vokasi Universitas Gadjah Mada (SV UGM) held an internal discussion on “Requirements for Homebase Lecturers and Lecturer Promotion” in the Ballroom on the 2nd floor of the Teaching Industry Learning Center (TILC) Building. The event was attended by the Vice Rector for Education and Teaching at UGM, Prof. Dr. Wening Udasmoro, S.S., M.Hum., DEA., Director of Human Resources at UGM, Prof. Suadi, M.Agr.Sc., Ph.D., and all SV UGM lecturers.

The Vice Dean of Finance, Assets, and Human Resources at SV UGM, Dr. Benidiktus Tulung Prayoga, S.T., M.T., opened the event by expressing his gratitude to the speakers. “We would like to thank Prof. Wening and Prof. Suadi for their willingness to attend and provide internal socialization at SV UGM. We hope that through this discussion, many questions can be answered and young lecturers will be encouraged to continue their education, thereby opening up opportunities for promotion,” he said.
In the first session, Prof. Wening Udasmoro emphasized the importance of fulfilling homebase lecturer requirements at the study program level as the foundation of university excellence. He said that UGM’s excellence began with excellent study programs, and this could only be achieved if the lecturers met the functional position requirements. “To encourage research publications, we need to implement a teamwork system so that we can support each other. This is no longer the time to compete, but to collaborate for mutual progress,” he said.
In the next session, Prof. Suadi comprehensively explained the procedures and criteria for lecturer promotions, starting from the levels of Assistant Lecturer, Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, to Professor. He emphasized the importance of scientific work quality, document completeness, and consistency in developing academic competence. “Each level has clear requirements, both in terms of educational qualifications, teaching experience, and scientific publications. With the right understanding, lecturers can plan their career development in a focused manner,” he explained.
This discussion served as an important forum for SV UGM lecturers to obtain the latest information on regulations and strategies for academic career development. SV UGM reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the improvement of lecturer quality, which is expected to strengthen the competitiveness of study programs and the reputation of Universitas Gadjah Mada at the national and international levels.
