Dean of Sekolah Vokasi UGM Strengthens Vocational Collaboration in Liuzhou, China

Liuzhou, China, September 18, 2025 – The Dean of Sekolah Vokasi Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Prof. Dr.-Ing. Ir. Agus Maryono, IPM., ASEAN Eng., conducted a working visit to Liuzhou, China, from September 14–18, 2025. The visit aimed to strengthen international networks and open up strategic collaboration opportunities in vocational education, applied research, and sustainable technology.

During the visit, Prof. Agus attended the Indonesia–China Vocational Education Alliance Conference, which discussed synergy between Indonesian and Chinese polytechnics in strengthening the quality of vocational education.

In addition to the conference, several bilateral meetings were held, including with Guangzhou Eco Engineering and Conservation, focusing on forest management, forestry technology, GIS utilization, and SDGs-based eco-tourism. Another meeting was with Hubei Polytechnic, discussing training and development in civil construction and other vocational fields.

Prof. Agus also met with LiuGong Heavy Industry, China’s largest heavy equipment company, to explore collaboration with SV UGM’s Department of Biological and Veterinary Technology (DTHV) and Department of Civil Engineering (DTS) in vocational technology development and skills enhancement.

“This collaboration marks an important step in strengthening Sekolah Vokasi UGM’s position in world-class vocational education while supporting SDGs through environmentally friendly technology and industry,” said Prof. Agus.

The visit is expected to result in concrete collaborative programs, such as joint training, joint research, and technology transfer, to support human resource development in Indonesia’s vocational education sector.
