SV UGM and Bappedalitbang of Lubuk Linggau City Inaugurate Collaboration on Industrial Area Feasibility Study

Yogyakarta, October 7, 2025 – Sekolah Vokasi Universitas Gadjah Mada (SV UGM) has established a strategic collaboration with the Regional Development Planning, Research, and Innovation Agency (Bappedalitbang) of Lubuk Linggau City to prepare a Feasibility Study for the Lubuk Linggau Industrial Area in South Sumatra Province. The signing ceremony for the cooperation agreement and Type II self-management contract took place in Room 201, Teaching Industry Learning Center (TILC) Building, attended by representatives from both institutions.

The document signing marks a shared commitment between Bappedalitbang Lubuk Linggau and SV UGM to accelerate regional economic development through research-based scientific and applied studies. The agreement covers both the preparation of the feasibility study document and a Type II self-managed research contract. The Department of Economics and Business (DEB) of SV UGM will play a key role by applying an academic and applied economic approach.

The event began at 9:00 AM with the Indonesian national anthem, followed by the document signing and group photo session. Dr. Endang Soelistiyowati, S.Pd., M.Pd., Vice Dean for Collaboration and Alumni Affairs at SV UGM, emphasized the importance of vocational education integrated with industry from the beginning of the study period.

In her remarks, Dr. Endang stated,

“Vocational education is now structured and practice-oriented. Students are involved in industrial activities early on to familiarize themselves with professional work environments. We aim to prepare graduates who are not only job-ready but also capable of cross-disciplinary collaboration and technology utilization to enhance productivity in various sectors.”

Meanwhile, the Head of Bappedalitbang Lubuk Linggau City, H. Emra Endi Kesuma, SE, M.Si., expressed appreciation for the partnership with SV UGM, highlighting its significance in building competitive industrial areas and preparing skilled human resources.

This collaboration is expected to be the first step toward developing a competitive and sustainable industrial zone in Lubuk Linggau City while strengthening SV UGM’s role in supporting regional development through applied research and relevant academic innovation.
