Preparing Reliable Human Resources on Transportation, SV UGM Signed MoU with STPI Curug

Monday (30/1), Vocational College (SV) UGM established cooperation with Indonesian Aviation School (STPI) Curug. This cooperation was established by MoU signing between Dean of Vocational College UGM, Wikan  Sakarinto, ST, M.Sc., Ph.D., and Head of STPI Curug Novyanto Widadi, S.Pi.

According to Wikan, this cooperation was a follow up action of a mutual agreement between The Ministry of Transportation and UGM about Human Resources Development, Technology and Transportation Management. Before the MoU signing, SV UGM has visited STPI Curug (9/01/17) to discuss about the concept of cooperation in details.

“SV will never stop making innovations, it is a wrong way if we wait too long to take an action. The main key (to make innovations) is synergy”, Wikan added.

As a higher education institution under the authority of The Ministry of Transportation established in 1952, STPI provides curriculum and laboratories in accordance with what SV UGM demands. This point encourages SV UGM to establish the cooperation.

The scheme of on going cooperation includes student mobility to STPI within certain period (semester). The study programs involved in this cooperation are those included in Department of Electrical and Informatics Engineering, Civil Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. It matches with the objectives of SV UGM to establish new concentration on Maintenance of Heavy Equiment.

On the same occasion, Head of STPI, Novyanto said that this cooperation could be used as a means of providing high quality Human Resources on aviation in Indonesia.

After the MoU signing ceremony, the respective guests were invited to visit laboratories at SV UGM. (ty)

Telkomsel Now Opens Internship Program #WeChallengeYouth for Students of SV UGM

Friday (03/02),  Vocational College (SV) UGM collaborated with Telkomsel held a mini workshop for its students. Telkomsel, a company running business on telecommunication services, offers internship program called #WeChallengeYouthProgram.

This program aims at providing space for students to explore and enrich their knowledge and skills on telecommunication business. In front of more than 60 student representatives, the spokesperson of Telkomsel explained that the internship program #WeChallengeYouthProgram could accommodate students in developing creative ideas and critical thinking, enriching experiences in organization and finding good and beneficial networking.

According to the plan, this internship program will run within 3 months per year.

SV UGM Announced the Creative Innovation Grant for Staff

On Wednesday (11/01) located at the main meeting room, Vocational College (SV) UGM held a meeting about “Creative Innovation Grant for the Staff SV UGM 2017”.

The meeting was one of the creative breakthroughs initiated by vice dean for Finance, Asset and Human Resources of SV UGM, Faiz Zamzami, S.E., M.Acc., QIA and attended by all of the staff in Vocational College UGM.

“Grant for the staff like this is the very first time that held by SV UGM”. Faiz said. He explained that the goals of the grant are make a creative innovation for the staff around SV UGM and to get the solution from many problems that could happen in each department”.

“The 10 chosen teams will get the grant around 5 million rupiah for each team in this year, and perhaps would be granted around 8 – 10 Million for next year. Awarding for The Lecturers and Staff schemed will be held in the end of year. In other hand, Academic visit around the country and abroad for the staff is also being prepared.

At the moment, explained by Assistant of the Vice Dean for Finance, Asset and Human Resources, Nabella Duta Nusa, M.Acc, CA., that the deadline of the proposal of this program is 28 February 2017 and for the announcement for the grantees will be informed on 31 March 2017 The next steps for implementation and monitoring will be held on 10 April 2017 – 31 August 2017 and for the final report presentation will be held on 26 September 2017.

This opportunity opens for all the staff at Vocational College UGM. The proposal could be proposed by the staff as a team. All the Staff are expected to share this information and participate in this program. (Trsl. By Dhemaz)
