Jakarta, August 29-31, 2024 – The UGM Vocational School is set to participate in the Higher Education Partnerships Conference (HEPCON) 2024, taking place at the Balai Kartini Exhibition and Convention Center in Jakarta. This international education fair, organized with the support of the Ministry of Education and Culture, aims to foster collaboration between educational institutions and multinational companies operating in Indonesia. The event is expected to create a sustainable ecosystem between higher education and industry, aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) such as access to education and education for sustainability.
On August 8, 2024, the Dean of Sekolah Vokasi (School of Vocational and Applied Sciences) Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Prof. Dr.-Ing. Ir Agus Maryono, participated as a panelist in the High-Level Policy Dialogue titled “Empowering TVET for the Digital Transformation: Strategies for a Future-Ready Workforce” held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. This significant event brought together experts and policymakers to discuss the future of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in the context of rapid digital transformation.
Yogyakarta, August 9, 2024 – The Department of Electrical and Information Engineering, Vocational School, Universitas Gadjah Mada (DTEDI SV UGM) enthusiastically commenced its Lustrum III and 15th Anniversary celebrations with a Walkathon on Friday morning.
On July 24, 2024, the English Study Program of the Vocational School at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) conducted a community service event in collaboration with the Regional Leadership Council of the Indonesian Indigenous Entrepreneurs Association (HIPPI) in Kulon Progo. The theme of the event was “Strengthening Marketing Communication Strategies for MSMEs in Kulon Progo.” This initiative aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly focusing on economic resources, entrepreneurship, and access to education.
On August 8, 2024, the Bachelor of Applied English Study Program of Universitas Gadjah Mada’s Vocational School conducted the second training session of a community service initiative in collaboration with the Kulon Progo branch of the Indonesian Indigenous Entrepreneurs Association (HIPPI). The event, themed “Strengthening Marketing Communication Strategies for SMEs in Kulon Progo,” aimed to provide training and assistance to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in marketing their products through both conventional and digital media.
In July 2024, the Tour & Travel Business Study Program (Bisnis Perjalanan Wisata) at the Vocational School of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) conducted a market validation trial for live-in tour packages in Grogol Tourism Village. This event took place on July 5-6, 2024, in collaboration with UGM’s International Affairs Office. The program involved ten international students from various countries, including Tanzania, Cambodia, East Timor, the Philippines, Colombia, Rwanda, and Gambia.
On Tuesday (30/1), Vocational College UGM in collaboration with IBEC (Indonesia Britain Education Centre) held a UK Education Expo and Academic Networking event in the TILC ballroom. The purpose of this event is to provide information on opportunities and strategies for further undergraduate and postgraduate study (scholarship and non-scholarship programs) at universities in the United Kingdom as well as provide international exposure for students and lecturers of UGM and institutions outside UGM. A total of 27 booths consisting of 24 universities and 3 educational institutions of the United Kingdom were present at the event.
Vocational College Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) held a student exchange with Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (NUAA), China through the program “Recent Trends on Biomedical and Industrial Research”. A total of three NUAA master’s program students participated in the program which took place at the Vocational College of Universitas Gadjah Mada from January 17 to February 18, 2024.
Vocational College UGM also contributes to supporting student’s’ concentration during the final exam semester. This is demonstrated with the distribution of free breakfast for Vocational College students on Wednesday-Thursday, 6-7 December, 2023. In collaboration with Ministry Social Society BEM KM SV UGM, this breakfast distribution activity is carried out through the Program BAKI (Bag of Kindness) starting at 08.00 A.M in two places, namely in front of the secretariat of BEM KM SV UGM and in hall Department of Economics and Business (DEB) Vocational College UGM. For those two days, provided servings of healthy breakfast for students.
