Overview

Applied Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering Technology program started accepting new students in the academic year 2019/2020. Mechanical Engineering Department has organized Diploma 3 in Mechanical Engineering which inaugurates Associates in mechanical engineering. Manufacture industry urgently requires diploma graduates who have manufacturing design skills and also strong analysis. This request can’t be fulfilled by diploma 3 graduates, so the Department developed a diploma 4 study program or applied bachelor program. This study program has 3 qualifications, i.e. Mechanical Design Engineers, Engineering Consultants, and Project Engineers. The main competences are mastering component design concept, systems in thermo-fluid process and mechanical system which fulfill efficiency concept, optimization, ergonomics, consider environmental aspects, able to apply method, skill and modern engineering tools base on ICT which required to solve the mechanical problems, able to identify, formulate, analyze and solve mechanical problems by applying the rules of mechanical system design, able to design and creates product mould technology, able to create product design that counts the reliability and esthetic aspect, economy according to professional ethics which can be accounted for the society).

Career Prospects

Graduate career opportunities of this study program are Mechanical Design Engineers, Engineering Consultants, and Project Engineers. Mechanical Design Engineers needed in all manufacturing industries, food industries, drug industries, and other industries which are in its operation need mechanical motion manually or automatic especially for mass production at high precision. The opportunity as Engineering Consultants is needed by investors to design mechanical engineering industries. The other career in manufacturing industries which will develop the products. Innovation of design is needed in product development.
