Agus Maryono, attended the Coordinating Meeting on Vocational Education and Industry Partnerships organized by the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture (Kemenko PMK) at its main office in Jakarta. This meeting aimed to strengthen collaboration among the business and industrial sectors, higher education institutions, and government in supporting the development of national human resources.

Kulon Progo, May 6, 2025 — The Green House Field Research Center (FRC) of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) welcomed a visit from the team of UGM’s Center for Agrotechnology Innovation (PIAT) to initiate a strategic collaboration in the distribution and marketing of Green House’s premium melon products through PIAT UGM’s integrated agricultural e-commerce platform, Nutrifresh (https://nutrifresh.piatugm.id/shop).
On May 5, 2025, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) participated in a significant collaboration meeting with the Kulon Progo Government, held at the Menoreh Meeting Room in Kulon Progo Government Complex. The meeting was attended by the Regent of Kulon Progo, the Assistant Secretary of the Region, the Regent’s Expert Staff, the Economic and Natural Resources Division, the Agriculture and Food Office, and the Bapperida team. Also present at the event were Dr. Wiryanta, S.T., M.T., Vice Dean of Research and Community Service of Sekolah Vokasi UGM, Eko Prasetyo, S.Hut., M.Sc., Ph.D., Head of Research and Community Service Unit of Sekolah Vokasi UGM, and Dr. Nurulia Hidayah, S.Pt., M.P. as the FRC coordinator. This gathering aimed to discuss potential partnerships that could enhance agricultural productivity and food production in the region.
Kulon Progo, May 6, 2025 – The Green House Field Research Center (FRC) of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) recently welcomed a visit from the General Manager of Swiss-Belhotel Kulon Progo. The visit aimed to explore strategic partnership opportunities in the field of edu-tourism, envisioned as an added-value experience for hotel guests. During the visit, the General Manager toured the Green House FRC UGM facilities and observed firsthand the melon cultivation process, which stands as one of the center’s signature programs. He was warmly welcomed by Ari Kustanto, the FRC manager, accompanied by Arif Firman, head of the greenhouse team.

Yogyakarta, April 2025 — The International Talent Circulation Base (INTACT Base), an initiative of Taiwan’s Ministry of Education that bridges industry-academic collaboration and higher education exchange, is offering a golden opportunity for students of Sekolah Vokasi Universitas Gadjah Mada (SV UGM) to deepen their Mandarin language skills for free. This program is specifically designed for students participating in various international activities in Taiwan, such as Student Exchange, Internship, Double Degree programs, and particularly the International Industrial Talents Education Special Program (INTENSE Program). However, the program is also open to students interested in learning Mandarin, even if they are not currently or planning to participate in international activities in Taiwan.

Yogyakarta, February 4, 2025 – Sekolah Vokasi, Universitas Gadjah Mada (SV UGM) held a Vocational Education Development Dialogue with the theme Strategic Collaboration Towards Indonesia Emas 2045. The event was attended by the Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, Prof. Stella Christie, Ph.D., along with the leaders of SV UGM. The dialogue aimed to strengthen synergy between vocational higher education and the workforce to produce graduates with global competitiveness.
22 November 2024 – The recently concluded research comparing the linguistic landscapes of Malacca, Malaysia, and Yogyakarta, Indonesia, has provided valuable insights into the relationship between language, cultural identity, and urban heritage. Conducted between January and October 2024 under the research roadmap of Gadjah Mada University, this project explored how the languages displayed in public spaces reflect the emotions, perceptions, and cultural identities of the communities in these historic cities. The findings offer a rich understanding of how linguistic landscapes not only document cultural heritage but also shape the future of urban development.

Yogyakarta, 14 October – A team of researchers from the Vocational School of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) has undertaken a comprehensive analysis of news articles related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) published between 2020 and 2024. This study aims to identify thematic focuses and keyword distributions concerning SDG 7, 8, 9, and 17, aligning UGM’s efforts with the global sustainable development agenda.
Bantul, September 21, 2024—The Community Service Team of the Tour & Travel Business Study Program (PPM BPW Team) of the Vocational School of Gadjah Mada University held an Event Fundraising Training in Kadisoro Tourism Village. Twenty participants attended the training, including administrators, members, and partners of Kadisoro Tourism Village.
In a significant initiative to promote cultural tourism, the Tour & Travel Study Program (Bisnis Perjalanan Wisata) of the Vocational School at Universitas Gadjah Mada has partnered with Grogol Tourism Village in Gunungkidul to develop a culture-based event tourism package called “Kanca Budaya.” This innovative package aims to attract both domestic and international tourists by offering a variety of cultural activities that showcase the region’s rich heritage.

On July 24, 2024, the English Study Program of the Vocational School at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) conducted a community service event in collaboration with the Regional Leadership Council of the Indonesian Indigenous Entrepreneurs Association (HIPPI) in Kulon Progo. The theme of the event was “Strengthening Marketing Communication Strategies for MSMEs in Kulon Progo.” This initiative aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly focusing on economic resources, entrepreneurship, and access to education.
Bantul, August 8, 2024—The Community Service Team of the Tour & Travel Business Study Program (PPM BPW Team) of the Vocational School of Gadjah Mada University has initiated a mentoring initiative to develop cultural events in the Kadisoro Tourism Village. This activity aims to strengthen the village’s branding strategy while increasing the capacity of community resources to manage cultural events.
On August 8, 2024, the Bachelor of Applied English Study Program of Universitas Gadjah Mada’s Vocational School conducted the second training session of a community service initiative in collaboration with the Kulon Progo branch of the Indonesian Indigenous Entrepreneurs Association (HIPPI). The event, themed “Strengthening Marketing Communication Strategies for SMEs in Kulon Progo,” aimed to provide training and assistance to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in marketing their products through both conventional and digital media.
In July 2024, the Tour & Travel Business Study Program (Bisnis Perjalanan Wisata) at the Vocational School of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) conducted a market validation trial for live-in tour packages in Grogol Tourism Village. This event took place on July 5-6, 2024, in collaboration with UGM’s International Affairs Office. The program involved ten international students from various countries, including Tanzania, Cambodia, East Timor, the Philippines, Colombia, Rwanda, and Gambia.
