On Thursday, November 1, 2024, the Vocational School of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) Yogyakarta, Indonesia, made an official visit to the East Asia Management University (EAMU) in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, to discuss the follow-up of their Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The meeting was attended by a delegation from EAMU, including Prof. James Chua, the Vice Chancellor, Dr. Kaing Sopheap, the Director of Academic Affairs, Mr. Roland Goh, Head of School, and Mr. Saruon from the University Relations, along with other management and staff members. The UGM delegation was represented by Dr. Faiz Zamzami and Dr. Kun Haribowo, lecturers from the Department of Economics and Business at the Vocational School.

Yogyakarta, 14 October – A team of researchers from the Vocational School of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) has undertaken a comprehensive analysis of news articles related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) published between 2020 and 2024. This study aims to identify thematic focuses and keyword distributions concerning SDG 7, 8, 9, and 17, aligning UGM’s efforts with the global sustainable development agenda.
The Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO) Regional Open Learning Centre (SEAMOLEC), in collaboration with the Sekolah Vokasi Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) presents an international seminar “EdTech Horizons: Exploring the Future of Open Distance Learning with AI and Beyond.” This seminar was held on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at the Ballroom of the Teaching Industry Learning Center (TILC), Sekolah Vokasi UGM. By presenting experts, educators, and policymakers from various countries in Southeast Asia, this seminar aims to discuss the latest developments and challenges of educational technology (EdTech) and Open Distance Learning (ODL).
Jakarta, August 29-31, 2024 – The UGM Vocational School is set to participate in the Higher Education Partnerships Conference (HEPCON) 2024, taking place at the Balai Kartini Exhibition and Convention Center in Jakarta. This international education fair, organized with the support of the Ministry of Education and Culture, aims to foster collaboration between educational institutions and multinational companies operating in Indonesia. The event is expected to create a sustainable ecosystem between higher education and industry, aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) such as access to education and education for sustainability.
In July 2024, the Tour & Travel Business Study Program (Bisnis Perjalanan Wisata) at the Vocational School of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) conducted a market validation trial for live-in tour packages in Grogol Tourism Village. This event took place on July 5-6, 2024, in collaboration with UGM’s International Affairs Office. The program involved ten international students from various countries, including Tanzania, Cambodia, East Timor, the Philippines, Colombia, Rwanda, and Gambia.
