Center of Excellence (CoE) Smart System Innovation Center
The Centre of Excellence (CoE) Smart System and Innovation Centre is expected to play a role in the increasingly developing technological innovation by enhancing competencies through research and training for students and collaboration with the industrial world in line with the vision and mission of Universitas Gadjah Mada. The research activities of the Smart System and Innovation Centre cover all fields of science in all departments within the UGM Vocational College. The keywords Smart, Innovation and Big Data are key to the development of the Industry 4.0 era, which is based on automation, big data, cloud computing, autonomy, the Internet of Things, and data management.
The Centre of Excellence (CoE) Smart System and Innovation Center can strengthen one of the SDGs, namely the Economic Development Pillar. The indicator for this pillar is SDG Economic Development, the achievement of quality economic growth through sustainable employment and business opportunities, innovation, inclusive industries, adequate infrastructure, affordable clean energy, and supportive partnerships. Sustainable innovation, adequate infrastructure, and partnership support are the areas of activity for this centre of excellence.

PCB (Printed Circuit Board) Manufacturing
Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) are key components in various electronic devices, serving as a medium for connecting and supporting electronic components both mechanically and electrically. The CoE Smart System Innovation Centre provides high-quality PCB manufacturing services designed to meet the needs of industry, education, research, and commercial product development.
Facilities
1. Meeting Room
There is a meeting room with a capacity of 20 people, equipped with 1 TV and 1 speaker with 2 microphone inputs.
2. CNC
The CCD is a high-quality computer-controlled drilling and milling machine with semi-automatic or automatic tool change. It allows direct processing of Excellon or Sieb&Meyer drill data or HP/GL data for PCB production (drilling, milling, isolation routing) and milling / routing of plastics, aluminium, and other metals.
3. Brushing Machine
A brushing machine is a tool that functions to sand or clean Printed Circuit Boards/PCBs automatically with the help of a machine.
4. Compacta 30
Compacta 30 is a tool used to connect layer 1 and layer 2 on double-layer Printed Circuit Boards/PCBs, commonly referred to as vias. It uses a chemical compound that is only sold by the machine manufacturer, Bungard.
5. Filmstart-Plus
Filmstart-Plus is a tool used to print images on plastic film in a closed room without any exposure to light. The plastic film is then reprinted to produce images that will be attached to the PCB using chemical liquids, namely Filmstart Fixer and Filmstart Development Concentrate.
6. RLM419p
The RLM is a small but powerful dry film laminator especially made for small companies, schools, research and development departments. All commercial laminates for PCB manufacture and mould-etching part technique can be processed. Due to adjustable pressure control and adjustable laminating speed, solder mask application is also possible without problems.
7. Hellas
Hellas is a high-precision vacuum exposure unit designed for simultaneous double-sided exposure, primarily used in the manufacture of presensitive printed circuit boards (PCBs), printing plates (pad printing), front panels, and UV films, maximising vacuum contact for sharp results.
8. Splash
The Splash is a laboratory spray etching machine with integrated rinse, which is heated using a heater. The machine is suitable for single and double-sided copper-clad base material. This equipment is designed with a special focus on ergonomic, clean and low carryover etching and rinsing.
