Center of Excellence Culture and Tourism (CoE Culture & Tourism)
Center of Excellence in Culture and Tourism (CoE Culture & Tourism), Universitas Gadjah Mada, is a center dedicated to the development of culture and tourism based on knowledge, research, and data. It supports vocational education, applied research, and community engagement at both national and international levels.
The Center focuses on strengthening the cultural and tourism sectors through academic studies, professional assistance, and the development of sustainable, inclusive, and adaptive management models that respond to social, economic, and technological dynamics. Its services include cultural and tourism research, destination potential mapping, market and visitor analysis, tourism data and statistical processing, as well as facilitation of interdisciplinary discussions and multi-stakeholder collaboration.
In addition, CoE Culture & Tourism actively promotes international collaboration in education, culture, and tourism programs with overseas universities and higher education institutions. These collaborations are implemented through academic and student exchange programs, joint and collaborative research, culture- and tourism-based community engagement, joint programs, and international forums.
Through a data-driven and collaborative approach, CoE Culture & Tourism supports strategic decision-making, destination and tourism industry development, and the formulation of policies aligned with the needs of universities, industry, government, and communities at both national and global levels.

1. Tourism Development Assistance
Comprehensive assistance to enhance destination quality, competitiveness, and sustainability. Services include potential mapping, market analysis, product development, and strategic planning for governments and industries.
2. Cultural Development Assistance
Focuses on cultural preservation, revitalization, and innovation. We support communities through cultural mapping, heritage documentation, and advisory services to keep cultural values relevant and adaptive.
3. Education and Culture Programs
Integrates academic knowledge with practical learning through short courses, workshops, and project-based activities developed collaboratively with international partners to enhance cultural literacy.
4. Cultural Exchange Programs
Facilitates cross-cultural understanding through student exchanges, cultural immersion, and international forums, fostering global citizenship and long-term partnerships.
5. Language Programs
Supports cross-cultural communication in the tourism sector through language courses and immersion activities, enhancing service quality and professional competencies.
Facilities
1. Learning Laboratory
A technology-based facility for applied learning in tourism and culture. Equipped with five computers and SABER/ArcGIS software for spatial analysis and destination mapping, supporting interactive education and research.
2. Discussion and Meeting Room
A multifunctional collaborative space for academic and non-academic activities. Equipped with a whiteboard, projector, and presentation TV for FGDs, meetings, and content production (podcasts, video shooting).
