Vocational College Universitas Gadjah Mada offers classes for foreign students in the form of non-degree program by cooperation scheme (only offered for partner institution)
Classical activities that can be attended by foreign students are regular classes which are also attended by regular students. Nonetheless, classical / class activities can be adapted to international tailor-made activities.
Since 2013, Vocational College UGM has begun accepting foreign students to take part in non-degree programs. The study programs offered for foreign students are in the social humanities cluster, namely the Department of Foreign Languages, Art and Culture Management, Department of Economics and Business, and the Department of Science & Technology Clusters; these are Department of Mechanical Engineering, Department of Electrical Engineering and Informatics, and the Department of Civil Engineering.
For the Department of Language, Arts and Cultural Management and the Department of Economics and Business, classes offered for foreign students include several programs, these are:
- 1) International Learning-Coaching Program (ILCP)
ILCP is offered by the English Language Study Program. In these activities foreign students are allowed to attend classes (learning) while providing English training (coaching).
- 2) International Internship Program on Japanese Language Teaching
International Internship Program activities on Japanese Language Teaching are offered by the Japanese Language Study Program. In these activities, students who majored in Japanese Language Education courses from partner universities.
- 3) International Short Course Program (ISCP)
International Short Course Program (ISCP) is offered by English Language Study Program.
- 4) International Summer Course
International Summer Course is offered by a collaboration of the English Language Study Program, the Japanese Language Study Program, the Tourism Study Program, and the Archive Study Program.
- 5) International Fellowship Program
This International Fellowship Program is offered by Korean Language Study Program.
- 6) Vocational College UGM-KUIM Student Mobility Program
SV-KUIM Student Exchange Program is offered by Tourism Study Program.
- 7) Vocational College UGM-CDTC Student Exchange Program
Vocational College UGM -CDTC Student Exchange Program is offered by the English Language Study Program, Tourism Study Program and Management Study Program.
For the Department of Electrical Engineering and Informatics, the Department of Mechanical Engineering, and the Department of Civil Engineering, classes offered for foreign students include several programs, those are:
- 1) Project Based Learning Student Exchange Program
The Project Based Learning Student Exchange Program is organized in collaboration between the Vocational College UGM and the National Institute of Technology, Ibaraki College, Japan. The Study Programs involved and offering classes for foreign students to join are the Diploma 3 of Electrical Engineering and the Diploma 3 of Electronics and Instrumentation.
- 2) Vocational College-Akashi Student Exchange Program
Vocational College-Akashi Student Exchange Program is offered by the Electrical Engineering Study Program, the Electronics and Instrumentation Study Program, Mechanical Engineering, Heavy Equipment Management and Maintenance Engineering (Applied Bachelor), and the Civil Engineering Diploma. Foreign students from the National Institute of Technology, Akashi College, Japan have the opportunity to take classes in the Study Programs at those study programs (2-3 meetings) during the period of exchange activities. The classes can be tailored to the interests or special requests of foreign students.
As study programs that offer classes for foreign students during the non-degree program, the delivery of material in class or laboratory is done in two languages, Indonesian and English.
