Vocational College Universitas Gadjah Mada held a Community Service Program Launching (PPM) in Kulon Progo Regency on Wednesday (12/07). The event took place at FRC SV UGM located in Kulon Progo, Special Region of Yogyakarta. Vocational College Universitas Gadjah Mada (SV UGM) is committed to participating in solving various problems faced by society and industry and contributing to nation building. One of the real activities carried out to support this issue is community service activities carried out by lecturers at Vocational College Universitas Gadjah Mada. This activity is also done to support the Tridharma of higher education, namely education, research and community service. Various efforts have been and will continue to be made to increase the quantity and quality of community service by Vocational School lecturers.
There are 6 (six) themes in the Community Service Program (PPM) in Kulon Progo Regency by Vocational College Universitas Gadjah Mada, namely: Agro Environment, Health, Electrical Civil Buildings, BumDes/UMKM, Tourism, and Mapping. The Community Service Program (PPM) in Kulon Progo Regency by the UGM Vocational College will focus on 4 (four) Kapanewon, namely: Kapanewon Pengasih, Kapanewon Sentolo, Kapanewon Kokap, and Kapanewon Samigaluh Which was then spread to 10 (ten) sub-districts namely Sendangsari, Sidomulyo, Demangrejo, Kaliagung, Kalirejo, Hargotirto, Hargowilis, Purwoharjo, Kebonrejo, and Banjarsari.
The event was attended by Mr. Ir. Muh. Aris Nugroho, M.M.A. as the head of BAPPEDA of Kulon Progo Regency, Dr. Wiryanta, S.T., M.T. as Deputy Dean for Research and Community Service Vocational College UGM, Mr. Eko Prasetyo, S.Hut., M.Sc., Ph.D. as the Head of the Research and Community Service Unit Vocational College UGM, lecturers at Vocational College Universitas Gadjah Mada, OPD of Kulon Progo Regency, and related parties.
In his remarks, Dr. Wiryanta, S.T., M.T. as Deputy Dean for Research and Community Service said that “This year is the eighth year of the Community Service Program (PPM) in Kulon Progo Regency by Vocational College Universitas Gadjah Mada, therefore we are trying our best to contribute to the DIY Provincial Government, one of which is in Kulon Progo Regency. It is hoped that this service activity can increase the level of welfare in the people of Kulon Progo Regency.”
Then the agenda was continued by the speech from Mr. Ir. Muh. Aris Nugroho, M.M.A. as the head of BAPPEDA of Kulon Progo Regency. “We are very happy and grateful for the Community Service Program (PPM) in Kulon Progo Regency by Vocational College Universitas Gadjah Mada which will be held in 2023, I hope that this community service activity can speed up Kulon Progo Regency’s movement to catch-up with other regions.” he said.
After the remarks, the event was continued with a discussion session guided by Mr. Eko Prasetyo, S.Hut., M.Sc., Ph.D. as the Head of Research and Community Service Unit. After a joint discussion, the Launching of the Community Service Program (PPM) in Kulon Progo Regency ended with a group photo.
