SV UGM and the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Cultural Affairs (Kemenko PMK) Discuss Strategies to Optimize the Utilization and Commercialization of Applied Research

Yogyakarta, October 10, 2025 — Sekolah Vokasi Universitas Gadjah Mada (SV UGM) welcomed a visit and audience from the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Cultural Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemenko PMK) on Friday (10/10) at Room TILC-201, Teaching Industry Learning Center (TILC) Building, UGM.

The delegation was led by Katiman, Assistant Deputy for Research, Technology, and Industrial Partnership, accompanied by Muhammad Ivan (Policy Analyst – Intermediate Expert), Harry Fredian Herlan (Junior Planner), Muhammad Talchis (Staff), Achmad Gunawan (Policy Analyst – Intermediate Expert), Hamzah Purwanto (Policy Analyst – Young Expert), and Raisha Putri Cinderasmara (Policy Analyst – Junior Expert).

They were received by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Ir. Agus Maryono, IPM., ASEAN Eng., Dean of Sekolah Vokasi UGM, along with vice deans, department heads, and lecturers who are recipients of the 2025 Teaching Factory (TEFA) Grant.

The meeting aimed to strengthen collaboration between government, academia, and industry in supporting downstreaming and industrialization based on natural resources. The discussion centered on strategies to optimize the utilization and commercialization of applied research results through a pentahelix collaboration approach involving academia, industry, government, community, and media.

In his remarks, Prof. Agus Maryono expressed his appreciation for Kemenko PMK’s initiative:

“We highly appreciate this collaboration as it aligns with Sekolah Vokasi UGM’s mission to bridge research and innovation outcomes so that they truly benefit society and industry. Such collaborations are key to building a productive and sustainable vocational education ecosystem,” said Prof. Agus.

This initiative supports Sekolah Vokasi UGM’s commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly:

  • SDG 4 (Quality Education)

  • SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth)

  • SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure)

  • SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals)

Through this synergy between Kemenko PMK and Sekolah Vokasi UGM, collaborative policies and programs are expected to emerge that will accelerate the transformation of vocational education toward national competitiveness and sustainable development in Indonesia.
