Yogyakarta, 28 October 2024 – Prof. Dr.-Ing. Ir. Agus Maryono, IPM. ASEAN.Eng., Dean of the Vocational School, Gadjah Mada University (UGM), has been invited as an expert speaker at the UNESCO Regional Capacity Development Workshop which took place in Bangkok, Thailand, from 28 October to 1 November 2024. This workshop focuses on the Whole-School Approach (WSA) for Global Citizenship Education (GCED) to support the achievement of the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Yogyakarta (October 21, 2024) – The Vocational College of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) held a Pre-Departure Meeting for the 2024 Fab Camp Challenge via Zoom on Monday, October 21, 2024. Yogyakarta, October 19, 2024 – The Vocational School of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) proudly held the National Seminar on Applied Technology (SNTT) 2024 with the theme “Strengthening Comprehensive Vocational Higher Education as a Pillar of Indonesia’s Golden Vision 2045.” The event took place on October 19, 2024, at the Teaching Industry Learning Center (TILC) of UGM’s Vocational School in Yogyakarta. This seminar is expected to serve as a platform for academics, practitioners, and stakeholders to share innovations and ideas in strengthening vocational education and applied technology to support Indonesia’s Golden Vision 2045.
Makassar, October 15, 2024. On October 15-16, 2024, a team of lecturers and educational staff from the Vocational School of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) as a Source Vocational Higher Education Institution (Pertivsum) served as resource persons and moderator for a Training of Trainers (ToT) program for 35 lecturers and educational staff from Politeknik Dewantara Palopo. The event took place at the Arya Duta Hotel in Makassar. This ToT, titled “Training of Trainer Promotion Kits, Public Speaking and English Skills, Soft Skills, and Work Ethics,” is part of an initiative designed by Politeknik Dewantara as a targeted vocational higher education institution (Pertivsas) to optimize partnership efforts, not only with domestic partners but also with international ones.
Yogyakarta, 14 October 2024 – In an era where cultural heritage and community identity are increasingly recognized as vital components of sustainable urban development, a groundbreaking research project is underway to compare the linguistic landscapes of two historic cities: Malacca in Malaysia and Yogyakarta in Indonesia. This study, which runs from January to October 2024, is part of the research roadmap set by the Department of Language Arts and Cultural Management, focusing on the needs of stakeholders and aligning with the flagship research of Gadjah Mada University (UGM) on social, cultural, and community resilience.
Yogyakarta, 14 October – A team of researchers from the Vocational School of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) has undertaken a comprehensive analysis of news articles related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) published between 2020 and 2024. This study aims to identify thematic focuses and keyword distributions concerning SDG 7, 8, 9, and 17, aligning UGM’s efforts with the global sustainable development agenda.
In a significant initiative aimed at fostering inclusivity and cultural preservation, the Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) is conducting a research study titled “Building Inclusive Dialogue Spaces for Arts and Culture Amidst Globalization.” This study took place at Bentara Budaya Yogyakarta from April to October 2024. The focus is on creating a platform for local and traditional artists, particularly those marginalized by the forces of globalization and modernization.
Bantul, September 21, 2024—The Community Service Team of the Tour & Travel Business Study Program (PPM BPW Team) of the Vocational School of Gadjah Mada University held an Event Fundraising Training in Kadisoro Tourism Village. Twenty participants attended the training, including administrators, members, and partners of Kadisoro Tourism Village.
In a significant initiative to promote cultural tourism, the Tour & Travel Study Program (Bisnis Perjalanan Wisata) of the Vocational School at Universitas Gadjah Mada has partnered with Grogol Tourism Village in Gunungkidul to develop a culture-based event tourism package called “Kanca Budaya.” This innovative package aims to attract both domestic and international tourists by offering a variety of cultural activities that showcase the region’s rich heritage.
