Sleman — Students from the Department of Geomatics Engineering at the Universitas Gadjah Mada Vocational College (SV UGM) conducted a data acquisition activity as part of their final project titled “3D Modeling of Banyunibo Temple Based on the Integration of Terrestrial Laser Scanner and UAV Photogrammetry for Digital Documentation.” The activity was carried out on 25–26 April 2026 at Banyunibo Temple, Prambanan, Sleman, Special Region of Yogyakarta .
The GNSS practicum was a mandatory academic activity for students of the Applied Bachelor Program in Surveying and Mapping Technology Universitas Gadjah Mada Vocational College (SV UGM). Conducted within the UGM campus on March 4, 5, and 12, 2026, the practicum aimed to provide students with hands-on experience in GNSS operation, data acquisition, and data processing using static, RTK NTRIP, and PPK methods with Trimble R8s equipment. The practicum involved 61 students and was supervised by the course lecturer as part of practice-based learning.

This session specifically focused on the application of BIM software in quantity takeoff and construction cost estimation.
The Center of Excellence (CoE) Smart & Green Building Information at Universitas Gadjah Mada Sekolah Vokasi UGM successfully organized a Building Information Modeling (BIM) training on road infrastructure on January 27 and 29, 2026. The activity was held in Room 504 of the Teaching Industry Learning Center (TILC) Building, Sekolah Vokasi UGM. The training was attended by five participants from various groups within the Sekolah Vokasi UGM, including students, academic staff, and lecturers from the Department of Earth Technology and the Department of Civil Engineering. The program aimed to enhance participants’ understanding and skills in applying BIM technology for road infrastructure planning and modeling.
On December 12, 2025, four students from the Department of Geomatics Engineering at Universitas Gadjah Mada Vocational College—Pawana Abdurrahman, Rasyid Widayanta, Marcelinus Palma Surya Valendra, and Fakhri Fairuz Azmi—conducted a data acquisition activity at the Gua Jepang Sentonorejo cultural heritage site using the Trimble R8s Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) and the Leica RTC360 Terrestrial Laser Scanner (TLS). The activity was part of the support provided by the Center of Excellence Smart & Green Building Information at UGM Vocational College in advancing applied research, vocational education, and the digital preservation of cultural heritage. All equipment used in the activity was provided by the CoE Smart & Green Building Information.

In 2025, an innovative research initiative was carried out at Prambanan Temple, focusing on culinary depictions carved into its intricate reliefs. The study aims to identify and explore the potential of culinary tourism based on cultural heritage.
