Yogyakarta (13/7) – Vocational College UGM presented the Director General of Vocational Education, Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology, Republic of Indonesia, Dr. Ir. Kiki Yuliati, M.Sc., on the dialogue agenda on Vocational Education in Indonesia. The agenda was held in the Ballroom of the Teaching Industry Learning Center (TILC) SV UGM building. In addition to dialogue activities, Vocational College UGM also presented exhibitions of superior products such as Miniature Rainwater Harvesters and Porous Concrete which are products from the Department of Civil Engineering; then there are Electric Cars and Electric Tractors, superior products from the Department of Mechanical Engineering; then Animated Film and Becak Race Game, products of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Informatics; as well as superior products in the form of Wood Pellets, Cat Litter, Dried Fruit, and Chocolate from the Department of Bioresources Technology and Veterinary Vocational College UGM.
Vocational College Universitas Gadjah Mada held a Community Service Program Launching (PPM) in Kulon Progo Regency on Wednesday (12/07). The event took place at FRC SV UGM located in Kulon Progo, Special Region of Yogyakarta. Vocational College Universitas Gadjah Mada (SV UGM) is committed to participating in solving various problems faced by society and industry and contributing to nation building. One of the real activities carried out to support this issue is community service activities carried out by lecturers at Vocational College Universitas Gadjah Mada. This activity is also done to support the Tridharma of higher education, namely education, research and community service. Various efforts have been and will continue to be made to increase the quantity and quality of community service by Vocational School lecturers.

Kiki Yuliati M.Sc. on Thursday (13/04) held a joint media meeting with Indonesian representatives who will go forward to showcase their industrial technology creations at the world’s largest industrial exhibition, Hannover Messe 2023 in Hannover, Germany on April 17-21 2023. One of the Indonesian representatives participating in this prestigious international exhibition is Vocational College UGM which exhibits Brake Lining Crack Detection Technology with the Assistance of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and IRV (Intelligent Railway Vibration Monitoring System/IRV-MS).
Friday (20/5) – the Asia Pacific Women’s Information Network Center (APWINC), appointed as the UNESCO Chair in Communication Technology for Women, successfully held the ‘Kick-off Workshop’ of the R&D team on “Enhancing Digital Economy Participation for ASEAN Women Micro-, Small-, and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs)” project through a virtual conference, and in this project, one of the Vocational College UGM Lecturers, Mrs. Fani Pramuditya, S.E., M.B.A., is part of the team.
The APWINC was approved as the implementing agency last year for the 5-year project “Enhancing Digital Economy Participation for ASEAN Women MSMEs (2022-2026)” by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea (ROK) and the ASEAN-ROK Cooperation Fund (AKCF). The project will benefit 14 local implementing institutions, 200 local trainers, and 4,002 female MSMEs in ASEAN. ASEAN women entrepreneurs would build capacity for using ICTs and online business platforms through the project.
The APWINC initiated the project in 2022 and held the first Steering Committee meeting in March. The R&D team was launched in May with 12 experts in the fields of digital economy and e-Business. The R&D team consisted of 10 local consultants selected from 10 ASEAN countries and 2 Korean consultants.
A total of 22 participations attended including consultants from 11 countries – Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, and the Republic of Korea – as well as the ASEAN Secretariat and the ASEAN-Korea Programme Management Team (AKPMT) of ASEAN-Korean Cooperation Fund (AKCF).
The R&D team will develop training courses to revitalize the e-business in ASEAN by identifying the current status and needs of the digital economy and e-business fields of 10 ASEAN countries. In addition, the team will promote joint research to find solutions that can improve the participation of ASEAN women in the digital economy. Based on the preliminary research result, the e-Business Training Toolkit will be developed by the end of this year.
The conference began with opening remarks made by Mr. Jaehwan Kwon, team leader and representative of AKPMT, and he expressed his belief that this project reflects the commitments made by both ASEAN and the Republic of Korea to achieve women empowerment, especially in the field of MSMEs by helping them make use of and benefit from the digital economy and e-commerce. He concluded his welcoming remark by emphasizing the hope of cultivating a sense of community building between ASEAN – Korea and the AKPMT’s support for a successful implementation of this project.
In the second welcoming remark, Dr. Jungin Jo, the executive director of the APWINC, emphasized strong hopes for achieving the key objectives of this project, (1) to enhance ASEAN MSMEs empowerment based on practical digital business skills for ASEAN women, (2) to help revitalize the ASEAN economy, and (3) to strengthen the ties of friendship between South Korea and ASEAN. She concluded her remark by expressing her hope for in-depth collaboration and proactive engagement from all stakeholders.
In addition, the APWINC plans to hold the first Project Working Committee meeting this September, and has a ‘Training Toolkit Development Workshop’ in one of the ASEAN countries in November 2022.
Indonesian International Student Mobility Award (IISMA) for Vocational Students or IISMA Edisi Vokasi is a program to enable students to experience study and internship abroad for one semester under the scheme of Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka equals 20 Credits (MBKM 20 SKS). This program is organized by the Perguruan Tinggi Pelaksana Pendidikan Vokasi (PTPPV) and funded by LPDP.
Yogyakarta (15/1) — Vocational College Universitas Gadjah Mada held a ceremonial “Deliverance of Bio Fungi Kft.Internship Student” first lift. In this program, there are 4 students and alumnae from The Department of Bioresources Technology and Veterinary who passed the selection and were entitled to take part in the internship program at Hungary Bio Fungi Kft. then follows by 5 students and alumnae from the Department of Mechanical Engineering in October 2021. Fauzan Dwi Raharja (Alumnae of Forest Management study program), Sartika Dinda Putri Simorangkir (Alumnae of Forest Management study program), Maria Happy Liani (Student of Agro-industry Product Development study program), and Mikha Nova Br Ginting (Alumnae of Agro-industry study program) are the participants who go to Hungary in Sunday, January 16, 2022.
Yogyakarta (13/1) — Office of International Affairs Vocational College UGM (OIA SV UGM) held an “Open House” on Thursday, January 13 2022 by online Zoom Meeting. This inaugural event is organized by OIA SV UGM and aims to provide international ongoing programs for Vocational College UGM students in an interactive way and accommodate students to share any information about international programs and their international mobility experiences.
Yogyakarta (29/10) – Around 3,126 students who are the members of 735 teams from universities throughout Indonesia, including from Vocational College UGM have competed in the 34th National Student Scientific Week (PIMNAS) at the University of North Sumatra (USU) which held on a hybrid (online and offline) on 27-28 October 2021.
Yogyakarta (27/10), Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Malaysia and Vocational College Universitas Gadjah Mada (SV UGM) have agreed to collaborate by signing the MoA which is held via virtual platform. At this meeting, Vocational College was represented by Dr.-Ing. Ir. Agus Maryono as The Dean of SV UGM, Dr. Silvi Nur Oktalina, S.Hut., M.Si as Vice Dean for Research, Community Service and International Affairs, Head of Department and Lecturers of Department of Languages, Arts and Culture Management. Meanwhile, the representatives of UiTM were Dean of Faculty of Information Management Prof. Dr. Muhammad Noorman Masyrik, and the Vice Dean Dr. Mad Khir Johari, and other colleagues.
